I’m relieved that Doe Paoro has released a new track, I’ve listened to her Slow To Love album in the last year a ridiculous amount and it’s now time to change things up. New Lows continues to carry out her R&B style but it’s a lot more like an artsy emotional slow jam.
Feeling Bad by Mens Adventures is like Edward Sharpe and Timber Timbre melded into one. The best part is that the song has this cool and unique western surf vibe.
The Dodos have a new song out! The song is called Confident. According to The Dodos and this song, if you say confidence a hundred times, you’ll be confident.
MØ’s Waste of Time just sounds so cool and pretty much sums up my opinion on most things in the world. Her voice is husky and melds perfectly with the heavy electronic beats.
Paranoia by Chance the Rapper pretty much sums up my night last night. See I hate being home alone because this house is too damn big. and creaky. and COLD.
I have yet to find a Crystal Fighters song that I don’t like on first listen. Here’s LA Calling.
I’m pretty ashamed of myself, it took me over five tries to get the correct spelling of Eilidh Hadden’s name. I even almost gave up but I liked Close to Home too much to not share it with you guys.
The only song that does Mother’s Day justice is Mama by the Spice Girls. Or maybe I’m just saying that because I can’t think of any other song. The video for Mama is textbook corny 90s music videos. It’s so wrong but also so good.
Active Child is exactly like Bon Iver. If you want a song to sound good, you just have to throw one of their vocals into it and you’ve achieved your goal. Nolita by Gilbere Forte features Active Child and adds so much more depth to the rapping.
My brother decided to casually drop last week that his friends are friends with King Krule. I’m actually so jealous. He always knows cool people. Then again, I do have friends who used to be friends with Justin Bieber…but that isn’t really something I want to be bragging about. Here’s an old video for Octopus by King Krule.
The National’s video for Sea of Love is just a simple feel good video. A cute kid, a guitarist who looks like he has parkinson’s and four other band members crammed into a corner is prime viewing material.
The more I listen to The Fly, the more I like it because each time I notice something different. The first minute adds so much suspense because it is so simple and boring. But then Cosmo Sheldrake’s singing comes in, the beat picks up and then the banjo/guitar/something comes in and it’s wonderful. It almost brings me the same amount of happiness as Alt-J’s Taro did.
